Pushing Daisies

Filed under: Uncategorized — sunnyoctober @ 4:32 pm

I don’t know about you guys, but I absolutely adore this television show. I first caught its’ premier on ABC in the Fall of 2007. Lucky for me! This show is more than amazing. Each character is their own and they play them well. And yes along with most other movies/television shows this is a love story underneath it all, but a very inticing one at that.

The story is this, a pie maker that has the ability to bring any living thing back to life. Along with this wonderfully uncommon superhuman power there lies consequences. He is only given one minute after touching any lifeform to do what he must to try and understand how they were murdered or happened to die. If he does not, something else living around the same vacinity could die.

Also, if he happens to touch those he has touched to save, those people could die yet again. It’s a very vicious cycle but he doesn’t have much choice, that’s just how he was born. Charlotte Charles is the love of his life, only they are cursed by his blessing.

I encourage everyone out there in the internet world to go and watch the first season and new episodes from Season 2 on ABC’s website.

Go Green, Go Green Apple Iphone Green

Filed under: Uncategorized — sunnyoctober @ 10:06 am

If I could have anything at all right now I would want this. There are a few things I could think of that cost just as much but this is just the best to me. I would prefer a new camera to start taking semi-professional photographs now but I can’t see that happening anytime in the near future. It’s the perfect color. Glorious and wonderful green. Oh how I love thee. You have been a best friend of mine since I can remember. Now, I hope one day the two of us will meet and spend our days laughing hysterically at all the other fools with this little black number.

Green Iphone, one day you will be mine. One day. One.. day.

Tattoo artist leaves town with plethora of complaints

Filed under: General — sunnyoctober @ 11:41 am

This is in regards to the (Muscatine Journal, Sept. 27) story, “Not any tattoo will do.”

Yes, in Muscatine, any tattoo will do. People don’t care if they are getting tattooed in garages or someone’s living room and it doesn’t matter who does it either or how the person learned as long as they can get it for cheap.

I am an internationally known, award-winning artist and I had to reduce myself to working for peanuts because the town thinks it needs 10 tattoo shops and the town can’t even support one.

When I went to the Journal to let them know I was closing my business after 11 loyal years and moving on to bigger and better things, I was told to write a letter to the editor. So here it is. The economy is horrible there. No one knows anything about tattoos. They just want to get them and don’t want to pay.

I am now working in a busy shop in Ft. Worth,  Texas. I should have moved 10 years ago. I love it and I’m doing very well, so put all the rumors to rest.

To all my loyal customers, I apologize. But I had to leave because I am too good of a tattoo artist to stay in that close-minded, stereotypical, judgmental town. All I ask is for the people of Muscatine to do background checks on the tattoo artist they pick.

Remember that old saying, “Don’t know what you got till it’s gone?”

Well, how’s it feel?

Ft. Worth, Texas

Editor’s note: The Muscatine Journal does not publish stories about every business that closes.

” i’ve never had a tatoo, but I do know Stacy had a good reputation as an artist. With that said, the free market system really bites doesn’t it? Best of luck to Stacy. I’m sure she’ll find the appreciation she sought. “

” To Stacy, I totally understand what you are saying. I, personally, do not have problems fitting in with mainstream America. But, I do have a dark side. You just can’t show it in Muscatine. You will be ostracized for the way you look and dress forever here. No one will “forget” who you were in high school. Good luck. “

” Stacey your work was not all that great. I hope you got some training down in Texas. Intenationally recoginized I don’t think so. “

” HERE HERE !! Stacey.
But may I add to your statement, “close-minded, stereotypical, judgmental, IT’S ALL ABOUT ME, ME, ME, town.” “

Tyler wrote on Sep 30, 2008 5:33 PM:
” Geeze Stacey you really think highly of yourself don’t you. It sounds like Muscatine supported you for 11 years. That seems pretty good to me. Maybe the problem is your attitude toward people. you obviously think you are better than Muscatine. i’m glad you found a place that likes you. Did you ever think people don’t have the extra money right now to get tattoos? I have heard that you are pretty good at what you do but I don’t think you should go off on a town that supported you for 11 years. Also a little Small Business 101.. you should research your market before you go into business somewhere. You can’t expect a city to adapt to your business you have to adapt to the City. Cities change and you can’t blame other artists for trying to do the same thing you did 11 years ago.

Note to Texas Tattoo artists you aren’t allowed to open another shop or set your own prices without the expressed written consent of Stacey. lol

Good luck to you and sorry we couldn’t accomidate you a little better. “

tinman911 wrote on Sep 30, 2008 6:28 PM:
” Hey Good Luck in Texas, I am sure in Fort Worth (or where ever you went) there isn’t another shop or you’re complain about that town.
What did you want The Journal to do about you leaving put in an ad telling everyone else to get out of town?
If Texas was so great 10 years ago then shame on you for not leaving before this.
As my father use to say, if you’re not happy here don’t let the door hit you in the butt on the way out.
See ya all. “

” Newsy, so people with tattoos are freaks? In some cultures it is a right of passage. “

TheWatcher wrote on Sep 30, 2008 8:56 PM:
” Stacy, I know you will be missed by a number of people who search for quality tattoos at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, now my family member who wants to get the matching tattoo on the other foot will have quite a way to go to get the same quality. Good luck in all you attempt. “

” I find it funny how awesome Stacy thinks she is. I know I would never go to her for a tattoo and I know plenty of other people that wouldn’t either. What’s sad is that she said people would rather pay less and that’s why she wasn’t getting any business, yet even when she lowered her prices way down she still didn’t get any business. No work that i’ve ever seen of hers looks “award winning”. Good luck in Fort Worth— or maybe I should say good luck Fort Worth…. “

I personally have never gotten a tattoo done by Stacy and I’m pretttttttttty glad I didn’t. I haven’t really ever liked her much and I really had NO clue as to her departure. I agree with everyone else in saying
“Good Riddance!”

Dexter owns Doakes

Filed under: Uncategorized — sunnyoctober @ 8:50 am

I ran across a quite amusing little video the other night. If you enjoy watching the show Dexter on Showtime you should get a kick out of this video where Dexter owns Doakes. Which is pretty good up until the ending which was just a little unnecessary. My favorite part is Doakes coming around the corner! He’s going so fast yet he’s getting NOWHERE! So sad.

What

Filed under: General — sunnyoctober @ 8:17 pm

Hello, finally. I couldn’t for the life of me get the text in this box to show up. What the crap is up with that? What a great first post, eh? Now, great things are on the television. Only they aren’t really great things at all. They are infact not great things. They are crap things. Crap. Oh well I suppose.

My head is killing me. It has been killing me all day and I don’t know why. I have taken four Aleve today total and so far nothing has helped. Maybe lack of a little food-fuel. Again I say “oh well.”

I am going to have to figure this crap out. Spend more time messing around with it, etc. The cat is getting big. She still does not have a name. It is a little unfortunate. I feel bad for calling her ‘cat’ or ‘kitty’ or ‘kitten’ all of the time. Mostly Cat though. I have thought about just naming her Catalina or something close so it still sounds the same. She still rules although she sucks sometimes.

I can’t wait to get going on all of these things I’m going to be creating. Alone or with a friend. It is going to rock a lot of ass. I’ll be working on a lot of things. A lot! Like.. a ton. I’ll slowly be posting miscellaneous DIY products on Etsy.com or indeed on this very website. We shall see in the very near future. I’m hoping to have things up around Halloween, but lets not rush me. ‘Kay?

I’m feeling very tired and have tons to do so I think this is it!
